Will the furniture leave room to move?

Compare a narrow console, shoe cabinet or entryway bench against the space you actually want it to occupy, including drawers or doors when open.

Measure your entryway

1. Space you can safely use

Maximum depth is your chosen limit after allowing for the normal entryway route, not the entire room depth.

2. Outside furniture dimensions
3. When doors or drawers open

Measure how far an open drawer or tilt-front extends beyond the closed furniture. Allowance is applied once to each required dimension.
